Church at this point of time was really in charge! There were a lot of coruption, politicans and power in Church system. Also Chuch taxed a lot poor people. But the most terrible and the weirdest thing was a special and very expensive paper that person (usually reach one) could buy. I don`t remember name , but this paper "could" forgive the past sins, nowdays sins or even future ones - depends on how much that paper costs. That paper even "promise" you not to be in hell!
